Venice, Venezia

Well, as you might see, I have been really busy sorry about that,
but I guess from now I will post more pictures than tell you guys stories for short time frame
that I have now. I´m taking Studio right now and that with a couple of trips here and there
would basically sum up all the time left I have in Rome which is less than a month now!!!

So for Venice trip Vicky and I when on the next day from Cinque Terre to Venice, we took a train from Genoa to Milan, and then from Milan to Venice our long week. Trains were great and on time!!!

We had a great time, got a little dizzy with all the water moving!!! but nothing we couldn´t handle, we got to see the Architectural Bienale, which is a big architectural exhibit from projects from all over the world.

Bueno como pueden ver no he publicado nada de nada, losiento por eso, pero he estado super ocupada entre viajes y bueno el Taller que ahora se me viene encima la entrega!!! Sip ya no me
queda nada!!! Menos de un mes y mucho por hacer todabia y por ver antes de mi idea a Seattle y luego Chilito, asi que espero verlos a todos cuando regrese.

Nuestro viaje a Venezia fue super lindo luego de pasar por Cinque Terre, el dia siguiente tomamos un tren de Genoa a Milan y de Milan a Venezia. A pesar del sindrome de mareo que nos toco un poco, Venezia es un concepto de ciudad no conocido por todos, ya que todo es por agua y de hecho todo ocurre en el agua. Es muy pintoresco y no no hay olor malo como se dice y el agua no es horrible tampoco!!! Si estaba llena de turistas, y eso que fue a mediados de Octubre.

Ademas de poder ver arquitectura clasica vimos arquitectura moderna ya que se esta realizando la Gran Bienal de arquitectura de Venezia, super chori ver cosas de vanguradia y ver para donde va la micro en cuanto a arquitectura!!!

Cinque Terre

If you are in the mood for a second honeymoon, or just feel to got out with your love one, I have the place to go!!! Is five little towns, in the Northwest coast of Italy on the top hill side right next to the ocean, perfect picture¨Cinque Terre¨. Vicky and I head out to Spezia a town south from Cinque Terre on Thursday night, a side note she just came that day from the US actually a hour before we took off so crazy for her but she handle it like a trooper!!!

We got into Spezia at 12:20 am very late, but had a great place to stay for the night, rest a bit and got up early to head out to Riomaggiore, the first town coming from the South. We got there early in the morning not tourist yet just us!!! Beautiful town, but there was more to come. The idea is to hike and make your way to all the towns is 9 km long, but since we only had a day and half, we decided to do the small hikes and take the train to the last two towns. So we walk a 1km through the pass of love, yeah was so romantic, me and Vicky pretended to be couples!!!! just kidding!!! then we got to the town of Manarola, also beautiful, hike the entire town and also a pass call the wine pass, is was fantastic with all the smells of grapes, and the smell of home made food, was great!!! Then we hike 2km to Corniglia, had the best lunch ever, best pesto in the entire world, well we are in Italy it figures!!! but that didn´t end there, sine we had the best dinner ever in our entire trip. But the time we got done with Corniglia we head up north to Vernazza the place we spend the night didn´t have a reservation so we let to God´s hand and it work we didn´t even get out of the train station and found a man that was renting two rooms, not the cheapest but work so we didn´t have to mess around much. Spend the night there and had dinner in a Castle right on the edge to the ocean looking down to the water with the moon coming out!!! Great place, meet up with a couple of our class mates that were there as well but stay in the other town. The next day we head to Monterosso, nice place as well and nice beach I even got my legs into the water!!! We then took a train to Genova, and head it to Venice!!!!

Si estan con las ganas de una segunda luna de miel, o solamente salir y estar con sus amados a un lugar muy especial, bueno les tengo el dato del lugar perfecto!!!! Se llama Cinque Terre, son cincos pueblitos hermosos, que estan en la costa nortoeste de Italia, con una geografia de muchos ancantilados donde los pueblos literalmente estan en precipico a hacia la costa. Todo muy colorido dando una cuota de pinturesco al lugar muy propio de Italia. Bueno salimos con Vicky el dia Jueves 9 de octubre, como dato; Vicky recien llego ese dia de USA osea por una hora estuvo en el depto se arreglo y salimos raja!!! Llegamos a una pueblito al sur the Cinque Terre para pasar la noche y salir tempranito al dia siguiente para ver los pueblitos, solo teniamos un dia y medio, osea super poco. Llegamos a las 12:20 am, bien tarde pero nos quedamos en un buen hotel y Barato!!!! Al dia siguiente salimos tempranisimo a Riomaggiore el primer pueblito, estabamos casi solitas, no mucho turista ha esa hora. Luego seguimos al otro pueblito, ya que eso es lo que se hace idealmente, caminar entro los pueblitos estan separados entre 1 a 5 km mas o menos, en total son 9 km. Solo hicimos los senderos mas cortos ya que estabamos cortas de tiempo. Caminamos por el sendero del amor, literalmente porque asi se llamaba de hecho Vicky y yo pretendimos ser parejas era demasiado romantico, jajajaja, chiste no mas!!! o como diria el abuelo broma!!! Bueno llegamos al proximo pueblito Corniglia y ahi cominos el mejor almuerzo hasta ahora. El mejor pesto de hecho es de esta zona, delicioso y con una gran vista!!!

Luego partimos en tren a Vernazza donde teniamos que pasar la noche no teniamos reservado nada se lo dejamos a las manitos de Dios no mas y de hecho nos dio buen resultado ya que ni salimos de la estacion cuando encontramos a un tipo ofreciendo piezas, salio carito pero por la hora y por el luegar los valen. De ahi nos juntamos con nuestras companeras de la U, que tambien estaban en el mismo lugar para comer. Fue la mejor comida por lejos, el luegar era en Vernazza en un castillo a la orilla del mar en una terraza mirando el agua y la salida de la Luna.
El mejor Rissotto por lejos!!!!

Bueno espero que les guste el lugar ya que se los recomiendo a todos, se viene Venecia

Meeting the Pope!!! Conoci al Papa!!!!

So my roommates and I got up early, did fall sleep for a bit!!!, and when to Saint Paul´s cathedral just outside the wall of Rome city twenty minutes out from Campo de Fiore our home place!!! Took a bus and then the metro, and made it just on time for mass, the pope was just getting in the church so I got to see a little bit of his head, I´m short so can´t see much!!! then we made it all the way to the front of the church but on one of the nave so couldn´t see much over the entire service. But when I got the chance to get communion, I made a line that at the end let me to see him while he was giving communion to the other people, it was really cool, to be so close, a least from what I had expected that it would be like. Maybe 80 meters??? or less, but cool enough one of my friends had a really good zoom lenses so got a better shot!!!

The rest of the day just walk cute a bit and got home to chill out and relax, nice and sunny day, got to talk to Cathi, I hope you could call her at one point!!! She is doing great,

Mis companeras de cuerto o depto y yo salimos casi temprano, nos quedamos dormidas un poco, pero alcanzamos a tomar un bus y el metro para llegar a la iglesia de San Pablo o como le dicen aqui Paolo, justo afuera de la muralla de la ciudad, es Roma todabia, pero esta afuera del casco antiguo de la ciudad, es una de las iglesias mas antiguas y de gran significado religioso ya que en ella descansa el mismiso San Pablo, fue construida 3 veces y es realmente fuera de serie es una de las iglesias papales, Susan la pudistes ver??? Bueno a pesar del retraso llegamos justo a tiempo y no hicimos fila por mucho asi que fue super chori, y cuando estavamos entrando justo estaba entrando el Santo Padre, si!!!! A pesar de ser chica y que todo el mundo me tapa le vi su cabecita blanca de hecho eso ayuda a destinguirlo!!!!

De ahi nos fuimo al frente de la iglesia pero para ese entonces la nave principal de la iglesia estaba llenisima asi que nos quedo la nave derecha, pero nos quedamos justo en angulo al altar asi que cuando hizo la consagracion lo pudimos ver, antes nada solo lo podia escuchar que igual era chori. Fue una misa super grande, muchos curitas, obispos, etc, de hecho muchos curitas de otras iglesias, y muchos ortodoxos bueno eso creo. Lo puede ver en plenitud cuando fui a comulgar, llego un curita a mi lado y me quede despues de la fila y el papa esta en diagonal a mi como a 80 metros, fue lindisimo, a pesar que no sea mi papa Juan Pablo II, es igula de chori, el hecho de estar tan serca de el no lo pense nunca, y ademas en una iglesia tan maravillosa como esta.

El resto del dia lo pasaemos, caminanos ene y llegamos a casa a relajarnos y aprender mas italiano.

Where I live??? Right in this Plaza, or courtyard as you wish to call it, but is call Campo de Fiore, or Camp of Flowers, is not just flowers what they sale but food and vegetables, but at night is all about having a good time, all the restaurants and bars get their chairs and tables out for people to seat and enjoy a good meal. Is really cool, so far the gellatos, are amazing here!!!

Donde vivo???? En esta misma plaza, o mejor dicho Campo de Fiore, y como su nombre dice, es el campo de las floristas, bueno en parte porque es tambien una gran feria de vegetales y comida. Pero en la noche su uso cambia radicalmente, todos los bares y restaurantes que estan alrededor sacan sus mesas y sillas para ocupar la plaza, y la interaccion entre los que comen y las demas personas que caminan es bien chori, sobre todo los que hacen sus show para ganar un par de euros. Hasta el momento lo mas rico son los Helados, que por sierto ya he tomado varios.
