Viva la Roma, Great Rome

Hello, so I'm in Rome, yeap took an early flight at 7am from Paris, woke up around 4 to take a cab and head out, left my dear friend Vicky at the hostel, she is heading to the USA for her citizenship!!! Easyjet was a nice airline, not like Germanwings, all work out, and the best part, I got my bag this time!!! yeahhhhhh!!! I never thought I was going to be so excited when I sow my little red bag coming from the belt!!!.

So I arrived at Ciampino this time, a lot closer than the main airport, but there is so much traffic that it took just as long.
I arrived at Rome center around 10:30. Got to he Hostel and met up with my class mates and talk for hours about our different trips, it finally feels like I'm home and safe for the first time in my trip.

So now I'm in the Rome Center with such a great internet access, I will definetly upload pictures for you soon.

Si finalmente en Roma, y esta vez sin ningun problema todo salio tiqui tiqui!!! sali a las 4:30 am de Paris para tomar un taxi y luego llegar al aeropuerto a las 5:00 am, tuve que esperar una hora y media, pero salio todo bien EasyJet la recomiendo buena aerolina, no como la Germanwings. Bueno deje a mi amiga Vicky en la Hostal ella debe estar de viaje a USA para su ciudadania, suerte vicky!!! Llegue sin problemas a Ciampino, el otro aeropuerto de Roma, sin problemas, y llego mi maleta esta vez, sip, nunca he estado tan contenta por una maleta, cuando la vi salir de la correa mecanica uff, llego!!! Bueno de ahi tome un bus por 4.5 euros, mucho mas barato que el tren de Fumicino, y llegue a Roma a las 10:30 ene taco, la cago, osea nuestras carreteras le dan mil patas a las Italianas.!!! Bueno llegue a mi hostal y me encontre con mis companeras, asi que nos pusimos al dia de nuestros viajes, al parecer ellas tienen mucho mas aventuras que nosotras, o parecen una cosita al lado de ellas.

Bueno ya asentada en roma, me siento en casa, y me quedare aqui por un buen rato, asi que no mas viajecitos lejos, necesito descansar, pero manana empieza mi U, asi que lo que queda es mudarse a los deptos pero al parecer nos quedemos

Paris Montmatre espectacular

Ver paris en las alturas es un gran placer, mas aun que uno tienen una tremenda iglesia del Sagrado corazon, ha eso agregenle, callecitas coloridas que se conectan dando aperturas a distintas partes de la ciudad todo un sueno.

Mi lugar favorito de Paris, lleno de artistas pintando retratros o lugares de paris, incluso Van Gohd vivio por aqui, lo mas lindo fue encontrar un ricon de chile literalmente, un restaurante chileno.

Las fotos se vienen, lamentablemente perdi dos dias de fotos, sip, no se gravaron bien y cag......... manana ire a tomar lo mas que pueda para salvar algo.

Paris, day two and three. Paris; dia dos y tres

So we met some chilean in the Hostel, and one German girl and we all head out to Versailles, really good day we walk along the gardens and visit three palaces, one was Marie Antoniette, really cool I recomend the movie, I have not seen it myself, but I will.

Today we head to Montmatre, is the big churh that looks down Paris really coold neighborhood, is where all the artist come and paint, really mistic, colorfull.

Paris lovely Paris, Paris querido Paris

After a good night of sleep, we head out to tour the city. Now with much more perspecitve to where to go!! First stop the Louvre, we have try this strategy once with the Orsay, and it work which is to tour the museums first when we have all the energy and then the city. We had a great time, sow the Monalisa, and Venus, and much more. We got out for lunch just on time when the sun was out and warm, first warmer day since we have arrived in Europe. We had lunch at the Louvre parks, with a view of the Eiffel tower.

Then we walk all the way through the Champ Elyses to the Arch of Triumph, then we took the train and head down to the Eiffel Tower, there is a nice building just across from the Eiffel which gives a great view. I promise I will post pictures.

Then we went to tour the Eiffel tower, we didn't go up, been there done that. We did go to the Quay Museum, really cool, but I love the outside much better, for those of you that don't want to expend the admission.

Then we went back to the Camp de Mars to see the Tower again, and wualla, it was blue very well lit and while Vicky was taking me a picture thousands of lights start moving all over the tower, is was like fireworks, really pretty.

That was our dessert for the night, in Paris really pretty.

Despues de pasar una buena noche de sueno, salimos de una a turistiar, primera parada el Louvre. Nos justo la estrategia de ver los museos primero cuando tenemos toda la energia y luego salir a la ciudad, nos funciono en el Orsay. Vimos de todo, igual no todo porque es imposible pero lo justo y necesario para saber que el louvre la lleva. Vimos la Mona lisa, esta mucho mejor ubicada, pero sigue siendo el cuadro chico que desepcionan a todos. Vimos a la Venus diosa del Amor, sueper linda, y un monoton de cosas egipcias, romanas, griegas y muchas pinturas italianas.

Luego salimos a almorzar nuestro sandwich en los parques del museo mirando la torre eiffel, el sol estaba radiante lo mejor que hemos tenido desde nuestra llegada.
Luego caminamos todos los campos elisios hasta llegar al mimo arco del triunfo, fue chori. De ahi tomamos el Metro para llegar a la misma torre.

Despues de la torre solo la miramos por abajo, ya que yo subi en una ocacion anterior, vicky paso, fuimos al museo de Quay, super chori, lo hizo un arquitecto famoso, Jean Nouvel, y tienen una murralla verde fantastica, luego viene la foto!!!
Es mucho mas lindo por fuera que por dentro, creo yo, mucho mas amigable con los espcios publicos, y super entretenido el Landscape que le hicieron es fantastico!!!!

De ahi salimos a ver la torre de noche y justo le colocaron la luz azul que al parecer Paris esta en tono con todo esto que su preci es el presi de las naciones europeas, muchas banderas en los edificioes y cosas sobre las EU.

Bueno cuando estabamos mirando la torre del los Campos de Mars, se prenden un monton de luces como si fueran juegos artificiales, super chori, en las fotos comprenderan, luego las subire, esta cosa de que no dejan usar los USB me tiene loca!!!
Asi pasamos nuestro segudno dia, manana se viene Versailles.

Paris: the stories continue, Paris; las historias continuan

So, we thought we won't tell you more new stories, I was wrong as always, just when I though things were going smoothly not really!!! So, we took the train on time, just found out right on time that the station was acroos the river not the one we arrived on. That was an 1 ride, but we only had 10 minutes change from one train to the next, and we thought we had a chance, not really, our train arrived just as the other was leaving, we had to wait for 2 more hours, and finally arrive at Paris at 11pm. So far so good, but it wasn't until we show up at the hostel that things would turn against us. They were looking for our reservation, and the guy couldn't find the dates and the name and then he realizes that the booking was done for August rather than September. Oopps, Vicky who did the booking didn't check and neither did I, we use a internet booking system and probably use the date of that time for the reservation, so we had not choice to look into another hostel. They were totally full. For an hour, by now it was 1pm, we search for a place to stay and only found one from Friday until Sunday, not Thursday, meanwhile the guy found us a place to spend the night another Hostel. So we have one place to look up tomorrow, they won't take a reservation, rather they want you to show up at 3, didn't seem safe for me.

So we took a taxi to the hostel was a like a 15 minute ride, not to close, but is a close place from everything in Paris, at the Republique!!! Got there late, and into a room where people were sleeping, (guys for the most part, I must say that was weird) so just try to sleep, I didn't maybe an hour or so. Got up to get breakfast early, is included in the price (nice!!!). And we were trying to figure out the bags situation for the rest of the day and ask if they did have a private room for the two of us, and they did, that was probably the best news ever, since we didn't have to worry about carring the bags throught the metros, which I need to say they are old and don't have elevator yes cathi same thing we sow years ago they haven't done much!!! and plus the best thing is only 20 euros more from what we would of end up paying at the other places is 40 a night with breakfast and pivate bath for the two, 40 each, not cheap but at this point I would of pay even more. The place is clean, and much better than the one in Cologne so we were happy.

Thanks to this we didn't have to waist any more time and we head to the opera to find the Tourist information center, we did, and bought a Paris pass for different museums, we then head up to the Orsay, really preatty, I have a share of Monet, Van Gouh, Rainor, etc. really coold, didn't see it first time.

In the afternoon, whent back to the hostel put our bags back in our place and then took a nice shower rest and head to Saint Chapelle, and Notre Dame, the Pantheon, and found a nice chapel for the saint etenne, really preatty.

So far that was our first day in paris!!!

Pense que nos les volveria a contar historias, pero me equivoque como siempre. Primero tomamos el tren de Colonia a tiempo, pero igual nos dimos cuenta que teniamos que crusar el puente y tomar el tren al otro lado del rio no donde llegamos. Todo bien hasta ese momento, pero teniamos una coneccion de 10 minutos, por que sabiamos era poco. El tren en que veniamos se demoro justo el tiempo de 10 minutos por lo que no pudimos, tomar el prox tren asi que tuvimos que esperar 2 horas mas. Nada horrible estando en la estacion de tren de Frankfurt, hasta vimos un edificio de Foster. Bueno llegamos a Paris a eso de las 11pm. Todo bien y llegamos al Hostal como a eso de las 11:30, pero ahi fue cuando se nos vino todo encima, llegamos y el tipo no podia encontrar la reserva que Vicky habia hecho. Y se dio cuenta que fue hecha para agosto y no septiembre, Upps!!! Literalmente Cag...
bueno fue amable nos cobro la primera noche, y nos busco otra hostal para pasar la noche pero teniamos que encontrar otra para los prox dias. No encontramos nada todo lleno lo unico que encontramos fue algo para el viernes en adelante, llamo la Vicky pero no podiamos hacer reserva sino que llegar ahi despeus de las 3 no me tinco mucho a mi pero era eso o nada.

Bueno llegomos al hostal despues de tomar un taxi como a eso de las 1:30 a una pieza llena de hombres, como comprenderan eso fue raro asi que me acoste con los puesto no dormi nada por los ronquidos, y etc, fue todo raro. Nos despertamos tomamos desayuno que hechos nos ofrecen, y teniamos que cranear que hacer con las maletas mientras buscamos donde quedarnos, la noche anterior le preguntamos al tipo si tenia algo y dijo que no. Pregunte de nuevo en la manana, para algo privado osea una pieza para mi y la vicky con bano y la tipa dijo que tenia algo. Fue la mejor noticia, nos quedamos en el mismo lugar, es limpio, y ademas nos dan desayuno algo que vale en paris una comida menos!!!

Asi que partimos a la Opera para buscar un centro de informacion para sacar pases para ir a los museos, y demases. Luego fuimos al Orsay, bakan tengo mi cuota de Monet, Matisse, Van Gohd, Renoir, etc.

En la tarde nos fuimos al hostal para hacer el booking y ducharnos y descansar un poco porque no pasamos una noche muy buena que digamos. Luego nos fuimos a Saint Chapelle, Notre Dame, Pantheon, y vimos los parques de Luxemburgo por fuera porque estaban cerrados. Luego vimos un poco de la noche parisina con la torre Eifel iluminada.

Bueno dormiremos mucho mejor hoy y mas descandas que tenemos un lugar para quedarnos hasta que no vayamos,

Cologne, Colonia

We arrived in Cologne around 4:30, two hours later, since, there was a delay on the train, something to do with a suicide, yeah, so far nothing impress us more, if the train is late or someone is trying to kill him self, with everything that has happen to us, but we aren't sure about this one, since this what a person on the trian told us, maybe a miss comunication!!!! We hope I guess.

Any way, Cologne is nice, but I thought there was much going on in the town, but there isn't much, since 95% of the city got destroy after WWII they had to rebuilt it from scrach, is a good conbination of the modern and the old. The DOM, or the Cathedral as they call it here, is breath taking, so nice.

On Monday (yesterday) we got to tour more around the city to is medieval walls, some are still up, and gates, pretty. And later in the afternoon, got down the cathedral to the treasury museum, the cheapest and the most stunning museum so far in our trip. If you didn't know, there remains of the Magic are resting in the cathedral, really impressive.

LLegamos a Colonia a eso de las 4:30 pm, luego de dos horas de retraso por un tema de que hubo un intento de suicidio o algo por el estilo, no sabemos los detalles pero eso lo que le entendimos a la tipa que hiba serca de nosotros.

Bueno Colonia es distinto a lo que me lo imaginaba osea la ciudad, pense que habia mas de la ciudad, pero en realidad es mas la Cathedral que nada mas. Como se tuvo que reecontruir todo de cero porque despues the la segunda guerra el 95% fue destruido, se tubo que hacer todo de nuevo al igual que Berlin, solo la catedral y un par de murallas del tiempo Medieval y Romano quedaron aisladas dentro del casco urbano.

La catedral o Dom como le llaman aqui, te quita la respiracion, es impressionante, la mejor catedral que he visto, es impresionante. Y lo mejor fue el museo que esta al subterraneo de la Catedral, son las reliquias que los distintos obispos han capturad y recoleccionado. Una de las mas importantes es que aqui descansan los restos de los 3 reyes magos, sip y no es mito ni leyenda, cosa que no podia creer, vimos tanto oro, y un nivel de detalles, que wow, impresionante. No puede tomar fotos, porque no dejaban, pero llevo tripticos para que vean algo, pero lo poco que les diga los asombrara.

Ahora estamos rumbo a Paris, Dios quiera que no tengamos novedad, rezo por eso.

Berlin: the New and the Old, Berlin: lo Nuevo y lo Viejo

All,
So we did make it to Berlin, well my bagge didn't (not for the entire time I was there), I'm glad I had some extra cloth, but it was cold. So we decided to head and take a quick look of Berlin, We were really tired, not much sleep, so we head to one of the remains of WWII, a church that was decided to leave it as a reminder of the war. Is really pretty even if you only see parts of it, very impressive. The built a memorial, which is impressive as well. The outside is not so much, but boy the inside is beautiful, full of little blue cubes that make up a module for the window like stain glass. I will upload the pictures as soon as I can, internet to slow and most of them for some reason don't have USB!!!

Second day we decided to do the original walking tour, that good old Rick Steves recomends, totally worth it!!! The student ID is finally worth now!!! So we walk for 4:30 hours, zeap, like 4 miles and more since Vicky and I, decided to do two more Museums after that (Jewihs Museum and Old Museum where they have queen Nefertitis bust I hope I spell it right!!!), we really need it to make up the day we lost!!
On our tour our guide was great, she totally knew her stuff, well she got a master and bachelour in German history!!! Any ways a cool fact, is that we meet with a couple that were there in Berlin, before and after right after the wall was turn down. It was so amazying to get the stories, the did go to the east of berlin through one of the 3 points, called Check Point Charlie, which we got to see, a little of it and told us how difference everything was!!!

Third day, So we wanted to see moderl and actual architecture. We head up to Postdam Platz. Is like the territory where really famous architets got to build their master piece, all in one place, a void in the center of the city thanks to the wall. Really could place, then we head to the Jewish Memorial, really cool place, I totally agree with you Nicole, I was a little bit dissapointed with the Jewish Museum, this was much better, and more stunning.!!! Then we decided to head to the Reichtang and get up to the dome, not luck to long line and our room mate invite us to the TV tower, so we couldn't turn that down, is like eating on the Space Needle for those of you in the US, but much Higher, is the second tallest tower in Europe after one in the Soviet Union. Why you are asking, well, the poor guy the day we meet up with him, in that night we were sleeping and then at 5:30 am he starts to coughing really hard, Vicky and I get up, she starts helping him out, but he looks really bad, he can't breath, so she starts hitting him really hard on his back and that works, but we figure he had a asma attack, really bad, he felt bad so he say he would invite us to eat out, so he did, and it was amazing, great view. Then he rented a cart the ones people drive like in a bicicle, and we got to tour a little bit around the are of Alexander platz reallz pretty. Then we went to the area to party or go out with friend, is a nice thing they created is like a bunch of courtyards all conected and you have lot of bars around it really cool.

Fourth day we just tour around, more and got home early since they told me to wait for my bag, it never did, thanks to Kaj our room mate, they deliver it to him, I got it hours before our trip to Cologne.

So there you have it, our time in Berlin was great, I must say Germans are really could in this part of the Country really nice people.

A todos,
Llegamos a Berlin super muertas y con mucho frio, ademas del trasnoche, solo recorrimos un poco, esa tarde por el cansancio, fuimos a ver la Iglesia que quedo de ruinas de la Segunda Guerra, como simbolo de lo que pueden hacer las guerras, y un memorial que disenaron al lado. Super lindo ademas que el interior no habla para nada de su exterior. Unos vidrios azules como modulos, que generan grandes colores.

Segundo dia, tomamos un tour por berlin la zona este, la mayor parte, fue super bueno y lo recomiendo a todos, es muy bueno ademas que la tipa es seca. Por 4 horas y 30 minutos y aprox 4 millas, bueno fue mas porque con vicky decidimos, ir a dos museos, el de los Judios y el viejo donde tienen el busto de la Nefertitis, fue super chori.

Tercer dia, salimos en busca de arquitectura moderna, y bueno berlin esta mas que claro se encuentra muy buena arquitectura, producto de la caida del muro, quedaron muchos vacios importantes como donde se ubica Postdam Platz, donde la creme de la creme de arquitectura coloco sus master pieces. Renzo Piano la lleva, al igual que Richard Rogers. Bueno Foster esta demas que mencionarlo!!!
Luego, fuimos al memorial de los Judios, donde miles de blques generan un plaza de varios recorridos, super chori, pero lo mejor esta abajo, es un memorial/museo super chori, y debo decir que es mejor que el de los Judios, mucho mas conpenetrador.
Bueno de ahi fuimos al Reichtang el edificio del parlamento donde esta el domo de Foster, pero no alcanzamos por la hora, ya que nuestro amigo de cuarto, nos invito por el mal rato que nos hizo pasar la noche que llegamos. Cuento corto casi se nos va para el patio de los callados, como si no tuviermos historia para contartes, bueno aqui les mando otra, sip, a las 5:30 am nos desperatmos con Vicky con unos tosidos super fuertes, y escuchamos a el ahogandose, Vicky se levanto (mas valiente que yo)y le empeso a pegar en la espalda ya que penso que se habia trajado algo, pero no, era como ataque de asma. Bueno menos mal que respiro el tipo sino la media ni que cag.... que nos pasaria. Bueno producto de eso se sintio tan mal que nos dijo que nos invitaria a comer, no le creimos mucho pero nos dijo si estan en Berlin deben comer en la Torre de la Tv, es como el Space Needle en Seattle, con mas de 300 metros de altura y tiene un restorante giratorio, bueno resulto y con Vicky lo pasamos chanco. Despues arrendo un carrito de esos que los tipos manejan como en bici y nos llego por la ciudad, por un rato. Luego fuimos al barrio bohemio, pero chori, de Berlin.

Quarto dia, turistiamos un poco mas, vimos las puertas de Babilonia, super choris, y tomamos un bus para ver el tirgaden, el gran parque de Berlin como el Central Park de NY!!! Llegamos tempranitos para esperar mi famosa maleta pero no llego, sino que el Kaj el tipo con el que vivimos me la trajo ya que el pedio que se la fueran a dejar donde el sino fuera por el quien sabe cuando tendria mi maletita.

Finally in Berlin, Por Fin en Berlin

Luego de 5 horas de espera y retraso por el avion de Roma a Stuttgart salimos de Roma a las 9 pm por lo que perdimos nuestra coneccion de Stuttgart y no habia nadie en el counter de la aerolinea, por lo que pasamos la noche en el aeropuerto, menos mal que era Aleman, porque los Italianos dejan harto que decear!!!!

Bueno con Vicky no durmimos nada, comprendaran que las sillas son como las hue............ y con las luces prendidas no pudimos dormir. Pero a eso de las 4 am
llego la tipa de la aerolinia y nos coloco en el siguiente vuelo a Berlin. Llegamos a las 8 am. Luego de hacer varios cambios de tren metros llegamos pero teniamos el problema de como pedir la llave a la vecina, ya que como no sabemos escribir na en aleman, apretando votones funciono. Asi que porfin llegamos luego de 3 noches medias a dormir y corriendo.

Estaremos en Berlin hasta el Sabado, salimos a Colonia el Domingo,

So, we didn't make it to Berlin as we had scheduled, we finally made it to Berlin this earlz morning. We got stuck in Rome (the ugliest airport we have seen and in all the sensens) for 6 hours, we finally took off at 9 pm rather than 4:30 so we miss our flight conecction to Berlin and by the time we got to Stuttgart the counter was close so we didn't have anyone to talk to so we spend the next 4 hours trying to sleep in the airport, didn't quite work. So they finally open the counter at 4 am and talked to the lady, she couldn't believe our story, especially the part about that we didn't get any vaucher from the airline for the time we where in Rome.

We did get one for breakfast, I must say German's know how to have a good continental!!! so finally we got booked for the first flight to Berlin, did I also mention that my bag never made it!!! yeap, now the lost my other bag and this one is the one I have all my cloth in so right now I don't have anything to wear!!! I'm glad I put some new change, but is so cold up here, 20 degree less than London and Italy.

Well so we did made it to Berlin, and now we are in a great place, thanks to my friend I met in the intership at Miller/Hull, thanks Lindsay!!!
So now I need to pray for my bag to make it before we leave, that would be nice plus I only have a pair of underware to spare!!!

Pray for us so we can have a much smoother trip from now on, we sure need it.

Italy welcome to reality, Italia bievenidad realidad

So, we didn´t quite start that good today, fall sleep, and were late for 30 minutes after a long metro ride to Heathdrow airport. Got my bag but Vicky had problems with her passport, her name in her ticket wasn´t the same as her boarding ticket, so we come to realized that the British are as complicated as the Chilean, didn´t want to let in she end up going in the next fly, I almost lost mine, and wasn´t sure if she would ever make it into the Italian police. We finally meet up again after 5 hours.
Don´t have much pictures today, so bare with me I will put them up soon.


Hoy empesamos con el pies izquierdo al parecer, nos quedamos dormidas ya que el despertador no sono, pero llegamos igual un poco tarde 30 minutos pero esos nos vastaron para desconfiguar el viaje, ya que a Vicky le pusieron problemas por tener el nombre de su ticket distinto que su pasaporte, asi que los muy huevones de los british no la dejaron pasar y perdio el vuelo porque tenian que editar el pasaje de nuevo, yo casi pierdo el mio, pero luego de 5 horas nos encontramos en el aeropuerto de italia, y debo decir que es feo, sucio y cochino, y los tipos todos unos pesados!!!

bueno ya porfin estamos en Roma por un dia y pero nos vamos manana a Berlin,

London day 1, Londres dia 1

We made it!!! Long trip 4 hours to Chicago, 4 hours waiting and then 7 to London, we finally got in. One thing that did happen which turn out to be a good thing, is that my big, very heavy bag, didn´t show up, so I told them to leave it in the airport until Monday since I will be leaving again to Rome, so that work out better for me.

London is great, tired and everything we did quite a walk and sight seen to the top architecture and sights!!!

A todos,
por fin llegamos luego de 4 horas a Chicago, 4 de espera y 7 a Londres, por fin llegamos. Una cosa que si paso fue que una de mis maletas no llego, la grande pero fue lo mejor que pudo pasar, ya que una cosa menos que preocuparme, porque tenia que buscar un locker y acarrear 70 libras, osea ufff, asi que me esperara la maleta el lunes cuando vuelva al aeropuerto rumbo a Roma.
Me llego la chica asi que tengo lo que necesito para estos 3 dias.

bueno a pesar de las horas que son 9 de diferencia, partimos altiro a ver lugar y arquitectura muy bakana como dice Vicky.

Ya estamos casi listas!!!

Hola a todos, bueno luego de varios dias de empacar, votar, y reorganizar, porfin, ya tengo mi bodega llena de cajas, por Dios que uno junta wue.............!!!! sobre todo yo!!! la miss cachureos, bueno todo sea para el bienestar de mi estadia en Seattle. Gracias a la ayuda de mis amigos aqui en una hora bajamos las 14 cajas, sip, y quedan un par mas, pero ya lo menos.

Bueno como ya saben el 11 de Septiembre partimos rumbo a londres, por ahora les mando la info de viaje, calendarios, fechas y demases, para que pongan ojo.

Resen para que nos toque un excelente viaje, y los proteja a Vicky y a mi.
